Educational Qualifications and Experience –

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
• Knowledge of server hardware troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of server booting operations such as POST, BIOS, PXE, Kickstart, GRUB/LILO, and RAID.
• Some knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, and L2/L3 technologies.
• Understanding of network hardware such as copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, and routers.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• IT infrastructure and hardware are two of my passions.

*Please note that this position involves a physical component, requiring the ability to lift and rack equipment up to 20kg and may require working in cramped spaces or at elevated locations while adhering to health and safety guidelines. *This role includes 24×7 shift rotation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of remote access tools such as console routers, IPMI, and BMC.
• Installation and configuration of network equipment.
• Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and JunOS knowledge is required.
• Knowledge of redundancy, including power feeds, ATS, server hardware, RAID, and network connectivity.
• Knowledge of Data Centre Operations, such as Inventory Management, Hot/Cold Aisles, and Security.
• Project management participation.
• Knowledge or experience with AWS products such as EC2, EBS, and S3.
• Skills in Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby, or other programming languages are required.

Amazon Recruitment 2023 Job Profile and Responsibilities

Problem Solving:

• Serving as a technical troubleshooter and escalation point for all System and Network hardware issues.
• Problems with Linux servers are being investigated and resolved.
• Troubleshooting issues with XEN service virtualization.

Technical:

• Diagnosis of technical difficulties across several platforms, such as systems, networking, and power/mechanical.
• Taking care of physical layer outages in both systems and networks.
• Taking care of physical power issues on racks.
• Attending Data Centre power and cooling activities.

Operations:

• Meeting On-Call obligations and reacting during shift rotations 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Installing and configuring host racks following internal SLAs.
• Trouble tickets for all devices in your region are prioritized and resolved.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for all High Severity concerns at the Data Centre.
• Replacing server and network device components physically.
• Ensure proper part and spare rotation.
• Contributing to the development of metrics to improve customer uptime.
• ADSIPL enforces security best practices.
• Working with outside vendors and contractors.
• Providing suggestions for increasing operational efficiency.

Project Management:

• Participating in and completing a variety of high-impact small to medium-scale initiatives.
• At ADSIPL, I attend internal team meetings for metric analysis and project status updates.
• Assisting in the construction of India’s largest cloud infrastructure.

Mentoring:

• Sharing knowledge and educating less technical staff on best practices related to break-fix issues.

Hiring:

• Contributing to building a great team by participating in the ADSIPL’s hiring process and candidate interviews.
