Educational Qualification:

• On the critical date, he should have completed at least five years of approved and continuous duty in the Lower Division Grade of the service.
• If he was appointed to the Lower Division Grade of the Central Secretariat Clerical Service based on the results of a Competitive Examination, including a Limited Departmental Competitive Examination, the results of such examination must have been announced at least five years before the crucial date, and he must have served in that Grade for at least four years.

Age Limit:

• Candidates must be under the age of 50 as at the crucial/cutoff date for the recruitment years 2018 and 2019, as specified by their respective Cadre Controlling Authority.
• Where an upper age restriction of 50 years is prescribed for promotion to a Service/ Cadre, it is eased by 5 years for candidates from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
