Educational Qualifications and Experience –

Minimum Requirements:

• A Master’s degree in a quantitative field like Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or an equivalent blend of academic training and hands-on experience.
• Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, Python, S-Plus, SAS, or other similar tools.
• Prior experience with data, gained through internships or professional roles, alongside a strong grasp of statistical methodologies and causal inference techniques.

Preferred Requirements:

• A PhD in fields such as Statistics, Biostatistics, Operations Research, Physics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a similar quantitative area, or equivalent practical background.
• Solid experience with statistical data techniques, including linear and multivariate analysis, stochastic processes, and sampling methods.
• Hands-on experience in machine learning applications on large-scale datasets.
• Capability to interpret data to formulate recommendations and actionable insights.
• Willingness and ability to both teach others and acquire new skills like differential privacy techniques.
• Expertise in selecting appropriate statistical methods based on the nature of the data analysis task.

Job Profile and Responsibilities

• Work with large complex data sets, solve difficult non-routine analysis problems, and apply advanced problem-solving methods as needed. Conduct analysis that includes data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, ongoing deliverables, and presentations.
• Make business recommendations (e.g., cost-benefit, forecasting, experiment analysis) with effective presentations of findings at multiple levels of stakeholders through visual displays of quantitative information.
• Research and develop analysis, forecast and optimize methods to improve the quality of Google’s user facing products such as ads quality, search quality, end-user behavioral modeling and live experiments.
• Help suggest, support and shape new data-driven and privacy-preserving advertising and marketing products in collaboration with engineering, product and customer-facing teams.
• Find ways to combine large-scale experimentation, statistical-econometric, machine learning and social-science methods to answer business questions at scale.
