For the initial registration stage, all candidates across categories (Unreserved, OBC, SC, ST) will need to pay a nominal online processing fee:

• All Categories (UR/OBC/SC/ST): ₹25/-

This fee covers only the online processing. Please note that candidates who are shortlisted for the Main Examination will be required to pay an additional, prescribed Main Examination fee separately before they can download their admit cards. Dependents of Freedom Fighters, Ex-Servicemen, Women, PwBD, and Outstanding Sportspersons will pay the fee applicable to their respective original categories.

UPSSSC Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

To be eligible for these posts, candidates must be at least 21 years old and not exceed 40 years of age as of 1st July of the year the vacancies were advertised (i.e., 1st July 2026). Good news for reserved category candidates! Age relaxation will be provided as per the prevailing Government of Uttar Pradesh guidelines, offering a fair chance to all eligible applicants.

UPSSSC Recruitment 2026 Educational Qualification

Candidates aiming for the Livestock Extension Officer role must possess the following qualifications by the application deadline of 29th September 2026:

• Essential Qualification: You need to have passed the Intermediate examination with Biology from the Board of Secondary Education, Uttar Pradesh (or an equivalent 10+2 recognized examination). Additionally, a 2-year Diploma in Livestock Extension from a recognized veterinary university or college is mandatory. Proficiency in Hindi (Devanagari script) is also required.
• Preferential Qualification (gives an edge but not mandatory): If you have served a minimum of 2 years in the Territorial Army, or hold a ‘B’ Certificate from the National Cadet Corps, or have 15 years of continuous active service as a Veterinary Dresser Grade-I/II in the Remount Veterinary Corps (along with a High School pass in Science or Agriculture), these qualifications will be given preference.

Out of the total 1251 vacancies, 1248 posts are for regular selection and 3 posts are under special selection for Livestock Extension Officer. For the regular posts, the category-wise distribution is as follows: 500 for UR, 254 for SC, 25 for ST, 345 for OBC, and 124 for EWS. For the special selection posts, 3 vacancies are reserved for OBC. Additionally, horizontal reservation ensures representation for various groups: 17 for Low Vision, 16 for Hard of Hearing, 16 for One Arm Affected/Dwarfism/Acid Attack Victims, 62 for Ex-Servicemen, 249 for Women, and 24 for Outstanding Sportspersons.

The selection journey for the Livestock Extension Officer position is straightforward and primarily based on your performance in a written examination. Here’s a breakdown:

1. Shortlisting through PET-2025: Only candidates who appeared in the Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025 (PET-2025) and hold a valid, non-zero, or non-negative score will be considered. UPSSSC will shortlist candidates for the Main Examination, typically up to 15 times the number of advertised posts, based on their normalized PET-2025 scores.
2. Written (Main) Examination: If you are shortlisted, you will proceed to a main objective-type, multiple-choice written examination. This paper will consist of 100 questions, with each question carrying 1 mark, and you’ll have 2 hours (120 minutes) to complete it. Be mindful of the negative marking: 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

The examination will cover three main parts:

• Part 1: Subject-related Knowledge (65 Questions, 65 Marks) – covering topics like Animal Husbandry, Nutrition, Breeding, Dairy, Poultry, and Disease Management.
• Part 2: Computer & Information Technology Concepts, Contemporary Tech Developments (15 Questions, 15 Marks) – including fundamentals of IT, hardware/software, internet, e-governance, cyber security, and emerging technologies.
• Part 3: General Knowledge Related to Uttar Pradesh (20 Questions, 20 Marks) – focusing on the history, culture, geography, economy, and current affairs of Uttar Pradesh.
