ICF Act Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The selection for ICF Act Apprentice positions is straightforward and merit-based, ensuring a fair chance for all eligible candidates:

  1. Merit List: Your primary selection will be based on the marks you secured in your Std X (Matriculation) examination. If there’s a tie in marks, the older candidate will be given preference. If birth dates are also the same, the candidate who passed Std X earlier will be considered first.
  2. Trade Allotment: Freshers will get to choose their preferred trade, with final allotment depending on merit and vacancy availability. Once a trade is assigned, changes won’t be permitted. Ex-ITI candidates will be trained in the trade matching their ITI certificate.
  3. Medical Examination: If you’re selected, you’ll need to present a Medical Certificate during document verification. This certificate must be issued by a Government-authorized doctor (Gazetted) who is at least an Assistant Surgeon of a Central or State Hospital.
  4. Document Verification: You must bring your original Transfer Certificate for the qualifying examination (Std X/XII/ITI) for verification.
  5. Declaration: Upon joining, you’ll be required to sign a declaration confirming that this apprenticeship does not guarantee future employment in ICF or Indian Railways.
