Educational Qualification:

No one shall be eligible for appointment to the job of Graduate Teacher / Block Resource Teacher Educator (BRTE) unless he or she possesses the following basic educational qualifications:

• Graduation with a two-year diploma in elementary education (under whatever name it is called); or
• Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed. ); or
• Graduation with at least 45% marks and Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in line with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard; or
• Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed. ); or
• Higher Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
• Graduation with at least 50% grades and B.Ed. (Special Education); and
• Must hold a degree or its equivalent in the subjects or languages for which you are being recruited; and
• Pass the Tamil Nadu Teacher Eligibility Test (TNTET) Paper – II with an appropriate optional subject for direct recruitment.

Age Limit:

• The maximum age restriction for candidates in the General Category for direct recruitment to this selection is 53 years.
• Also, candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Class Muslims, Backward Classes, MBC/ DNC, and DW of all castes have a maximum age limit of 58 years.
