The selection journey for the Library Assistant (Junior Judicial Assistant) role is designed to find the best candidates through a comprehensive Two-Phase Examination:

  1. Phase-I: Written Test

    This initial test will evaluate your knowledge in core areas of Library Science, Information Science, Information Technology, and Library Management. There will be no negative marking, so you can attempt all questions with confidence! To move forward, General and OBC candidates need to score a minimum of 50%, while SC and ST candidates require 40%.

  2. Phase-II: Skill Test (50 Marks)

    If you clear the written test, you’ll proceed to the skill test, where your practical abilities will be assessed. This includes tasks related to Classification, Cataloging Basics, Accession Register Filling, Book Entry, Reference Books, Library Rules, Shelving System, Book Issue/Return Entry, and basic use of Library Management Software. Candidates will be called for this phase in a ratio of 1:15 based on their written test performance.

Your final selection will be determined by the combined marks from both Phase-I and Phase-II. In case of a tie, older candidates will be given preference, followed by those with higher educational qualifications.
