Age Limit
To be eligible for the NHPC Trainee Engineer positions, candidates must not exceed 30 years of age as of the last date for application submission. However, age relaxations are available for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per Government of India norms:
SC / ST Candidates: 5 Years
OBC (NCL) Candidates: 3 Years
PwBD (UR) Candidates: 10 Years
PwBD (OBC) Candidates: 13 Years
PwBD (SC / ST) Candidates: 15 Years

For these Trainee Engineer roles, applicants are required to hold a full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology / B.Sc (Engineering). The degree must be in either Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical discipline from a university or institution recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). A minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade is mandatory. Candidates who hold an AMIE qualification with enrollment up to 31st May 2013 and a minimum of 60% marks are also eligible to apply. Crucially, all applicants must possess a valid score in the relevant paper of either the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 or GATE 2025. If you appeared in both, your best score will be considered for eligibility.

NHPC Limited Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The selection of Trainee Engineers at NHPC Limited is primarily based on your performance in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2024 or GATE 2025. Following the GATE score evaluation, shortlisted candidates will undergo further recruitment procedures as per NHPC rules and regulations.
